How we brought Bowlicheck to Slovakia

Just a few years ago, it was almost impossible to find a properly prepared poké bowl anywhere in Bratislava. Today, you can enjoy this trendy dish at several restaurants, and you won’t regret it. Our project, called Bowlicheck, has also taken a chance on this popular dish.

The idea and vision came from two minds: 40-year-old Ľuboš Kincses from Bratislava and 35-year-old Miroslav Bodi from Nová Dubnica. They are bringing a gastro brand to the capital that you will probably be hearing a lot more about.

"We toyed with the idea of how to create an original flavor that we could incorporate into a colorful, harmonious whole—a bowlicheck. You could say that we are constantly working on flavors and improving them. It is also crucial for us that the food is reasonably priced, affordable, and that people identify with it."

Since school, Ľuboš’s life has revolved around gastronomy. “I worked my way up through various management positions in different catering companies, gradually growing and gaining experience that I now put to good use. But I’ve always been fascinated by discovering different flavors, which is why I chose my vacations based on where the food was.”

Miro, on the other hand, came to this segment from the economic sector, and it was traveling around the world that created his passion for gastronomy. He decided to leave the safe waters of a large corporation in Bratislava and devote the next few years of his life to building the street food brand LokalUnas/Unas street food.

The initial impulse for realizing their vision was to bring people a concept with great flavors and unusual combinations at fair prices. At the same time, they wanted to create an original project that they could identify with and enjoy. And that’s exactly how they perceive Bowlicheck.
